Ante Kuzmanić - City-Planning Study of the Split Kaštela Bridge with the Architectural Solution for a Polyvalent Sports Hall

INFO

The draft study presents a solution for traffic development of the city of Split. This is a preconditon for Split's connection with the northern waterfront and its carrier role for the agglomeration of the basin reaching from Trogir to Omiš.
The result:
* A 5 km shorter way to the airport – a new entrance into the city
* Disburdening the city centre of traffic jams
* The city’s entry slip road from the second highway exit (Vučevica Interchange)
* Integral solution of the new traffic node (Railway – Bus – Ferry Terminal)
* We open a 170,000 sq.m. territory – the connection of the city with its other waterfront
* Six platforms at the railway station, a bus terminal with 25 platforms, and a parking area with 3,200 parking lots. The draft is divided into two bridges, a road bridge and a railway bridge for the reasons of load-bearing and construction dynamics
* Between the Terminal and the road, business and tourist facilities are envisaged at the entrance into the city
* A polyvalent sports hall for 12,000 spectators, with all the supporting amenities, is placed at the location of the military warehouse in Kašteli; its traffic connections are very good
