ČIPTALKS 08
The positive comments and congratulations after the first issue of ČIP TALKS, the two-day symposium organised by the editorial board of the Čovjek i Prostor (Man and Space) magazine, have encouraged us to continue. Besides round table discussions and presentations organised in cooperation with Zagreb Airport and the Croatian Chamber of Architects and Civil Engineers (HKAIG), there were notable presentations by individual lecturers, from the reputed British designer LUKE PEARSON, who is a designer for Virgin Atlantic and Lufthansa, and the charismatic JOSHUA PRINCE-RAMUS and his presentation of the Dallas theatre, to MICHEL ROJKIND, one of the most intriguing new names from Latin America, and JOSEP LLUIS MATEO, who presented his recent works at the end of ČIP Talks, and late on Saturday evening got the public interested and nearly „filled“ the entire hall of the HYPO Centre.
Among the round table participants, we will certainly remember Lea Pelivan and Toma Plejić and the presentation of their projects for Buzin, then Albert Ferre, an editor for the reputed publishing house Actar, and Bojan Mušćet,who introduced us to the secrets of new media and technology we have not heard about before. We were also intrigued by the young American artist Jesse Shapins and his projects using contemporary media and technology such as the internet and mobile telephones, but also James Martin, the head consultant for legal issues in the famed OMA, one of the largest international offices with addresses in Rotterdam, Beijing, New York and Dubai.
