Display boards in transit areas have become the second skin (façade) of the city. They are placed in such locations that when we pass by we cannot help but look at them almost unintentionally. They make use of pictures and messages, which set off certain thought processes. They close off architecture (which becomes invisible) and open up other spaces – through manipulation (perception).

The empty display board attempts to stop the automatic consumption of images if for a moment, even though it opens up a space based on the same principle – it imposes itself to the viewer through place, format and intense lighting. It only remains open in the sense of content, which (in the absence of an image and/or message) can be interpreted as if not having any. Stopping the imposed (barrier of the balcony) associative flow of thoughts would mean opening up the possibility (conditional) of a free flow of associations – thoughts, projecting of one’s own eventual content, or even for a moment halting the flow, and the absence of content.
